Pickle ball is a paddle ball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a whiffle ball, over a net.  It was first played in 1965 at Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is a mixed gender sport consisting of separate singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
